It's an exciting time here at the Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition. If you haven't already heard, we recently hired our first executive director, Ethan Fawley.
Many of you may recognize the name. Ethan was previously the president of our board of directors, and played a key role in founding the Coalition. We're thrilled to have Ethan's passion for biking and advocacy expertise available to the Coalition now on a full-time basis. Since 2009, the Coalition has been entirely led and operated by volunteers, effectively making Ethan our first full-time staff member.
Thanks to the tireless work of hundreds of volunteers, the coalition has successfully advocated for better bike facilities such as buffered bike lanes on Park and Portland avenues, increased bike parking and implemented the Open Streets Minneapolis series. We're excited to have a full-time executive director on board to help guide the great work of our passionate volunteers as we look to make major initiatives like Bikeways for Everyone a success.
