We're hosting a lunchtime Facebook Live event Thursday, Feb. 23 where you can learn about our top bicycle priority projects in more detail, and ask questions about bike happenings this year. The Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition seeks a part-time Bicycle Encouragement Program Coordinator to lead efforts to partner with local organizations to support people biking more. The work will be primarily focused on serving women of color in Minneapolis. Come join our great team!

26th and 28th St Protected Bikeways Community Meeting

26th and 28th St Protected Bikeways are proposed to be extended through Whittier and Uptown neighborhoods this summer, between 35W and Hennepin Ave. Please attend this meeting if you bike, walk, or live in this area! All community members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Getting Past the Ghost of 1st Ave

Parking protected bike lanes have gotten a bad name in Minneapolis, mostly because of 1st Avenue North. Read why 1st Ave didn't work, and how parking protected bikeways are already and can work in Minneapolis. We are working for parking protected bike lanes in the Mill district right now!

University Ave/4th St Bikeways Update

The most recent update is that the current informal stakeholder group to become the main group for the City and County. Installation of a protected bike lane (or lanes) will not happen for a couple of years, but that doesn’t mean behind-the-scenes work isn’t happening!

Bicycle Accidents, Crashes, and the Law Recap

Last week the Bicycle Coalition presented a Coffee Hour hosted by Dan Brazil, a personal injury lawyer known as the Minneapolis Bike Attorney. Lots of folks turned up for the event and we gathered at the Angry Catfish Bicycle and Coffee Bar. We live tweeted the event while Dan answered some of the burning questions folks had.
