Donate an hour of your time Aug. 8 to help us raise $500


Can you hold a sign, soak up some sun and help fellow riders find their way through the metro area on Friday, Aug. 8? Then being a volunteer route ambassador for the SMART Challenge Ride is the perfect apportunity for you. In exchange for providing roughly 10 route ambassadors, the ride organizers are donating $500 to the Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition, because they value safe and enjoyable places to ride too!



Volunteers are needed for the following shifts on Friday, Aug. 8:




  • 9:45-10:45 a.m in the Wayzata/Plymouth area on the Luce Line Trail (6 volunteers)


  • 11:15 a.m.-12:45 p.m. at various points in Minneapolis (4 volunteers)


  • 2:15-3:15 p.m. in St. Paul on the Bruce Vento and Gateway trails (2 volunteers)



Volunteers will be given a free T-shirt as well as refreshments. If you're free all day, you can sign up for multiple shifts in each of those blocks. If you're looking for an easy way to support the Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition's work, this is a great way to get involved!

The ride is a fundraiser for Bethelehem Academy High School in Faribault, Minn., and alternates routes each year throughout southern Minnesota. This year, they are swinging through Minneapolis and found that it would be a good opportunity to support the work of the Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition.
